Here are some common dental problems we see as well as the steps you should take when they occur.
Knocked out or broken tooth
If an accident results in a knocked-out or broken tooth, it is important to take action. It is possible for the tooth to be saved.
Call us immediately, and we will find a time to help you in our office. We stay open on weekends, too, so we can tend to your urgent dental problems. In the meantime, keep the tooth moist–in its socket, if possible.

Toothache
For a mild toothache, call us at Premier Dental Esthetics to schedule an appointment. If the toothache is not yet unbearable, it probably isn’t an emergency. However, it may be a sign of dental decay and should be examined soon.
For a severe and persistent toothache, we will have you into the office ASAP. Severe toothache may be a sign of an abscessed tooth or another serious issue.

Headaches Or Pain In Face, Jaw, And Neck
Headaches, migraines, facial pain, swelling, buzzing in the ears–all of these symptoms are linked to TMJ disorder. TMJ disorder occurs when the jawbone joint is affected by trauma, stress, or arthritis.
Come see Dr. Young to discuss TMJ treatment. To manage the pain prior to your appointment, you can take over-the-counter pain medications or use cold compresses and massage. Try to relax the jaw, especially when you are stressed.

Red, swollen, and/or bleeding gums are signs of gum disease. This is not a dental emergency, but should certainly be looked at by your dentist.
