Arcadia, California is a small city with an estimated population of around 58,000 residents. This primarily residential community is located in Los Angeles County. It is bordered by the San Gabriel Mountains to the east and the Sierra Pelona Mountains to the west. The city is also home to the Los Angeles County Arboretum & Botanical Garden.
Arcadia is known for its beauty, it’s warm and welcoming personality, and its diverse neighborhoods. This community is one of the best places to live in southern California. Known for its picturesque surroundings, Arcadia offers many opportunities for recreational activities, such as hiking, biking, and fishing. As of the last census, the city’s population had increased by 4.4%. A major draw is the prestigious horse racing venue of Santa Anita Park, which is considered to be the best winter horse racing facility in the nation. Also, the city has numerous festivals and events taking place all year long, as well as several festivals celebrating the local arts and music scene.
There are many things to do in Arcadia, including attending a movie, visiting a museum, or hiking in the San Gabriel Mountains. For visitors who prefer shopping, there are several shopping districts that have everything from boutiques to large department stores. Additionally, there is the Arcadia Mall, which is located in the heart of the downtown area. As of 2010, the Arcadia Unified School District has received high marks for academic performance, equity, and safety. The district consists of six elementary schools, two middle schools, and one high school. Among the schools, Baldwin Stocker High School has been recognized as a National Blue Ribbon School. Moreover, Arcadia’s school system has been named a Gold Medal School three times by US News and World Report.
